Chenille patches are covered for 25 home washes from 14 October 2026. If one sheds, fades or lifts when cared for as instructed (no bleach, no hot tumble-drying), we remake it free. Ironing the front and abrasion are not covered.
A standalone chenille letter needs to be at least 2 inches tall, and 3 inches or larger is where it looks right. The limit comes from the yarn: chenille is looped pile, roughly three times thicker than embroidery thread, so below 2 inches the loop cannot hold the shape of the letter. Text inside a chenille patch needs 12 mm of height for the same reason. The most common front letter on a letterman jacket is 5 to 6 inches, but that is convention rather than a production limit.
Three yarn colors plus the base color, and chenille does not reproduce gradients. Each color is a separate run of looped yarn, which is why the count is lower than embroidery's twelve. Designs that respect the limit read as intentional; designs that fight it read as a compromise. If you need more colors or fine detail inside the shape, we add embroidery on top of the chenille base, which is the standard construction on high-end varsity patches.
